As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson

Jackson did it again! This was definitely the epic ending I was expecting! OMG! So good! Sorry…not sorry. This is such an awesome book trilogy! It is a MUST READ!

Pippa Fitz-Amobi is headed off to college in a few months, but it is just enough time for Pip to get herself into another…pickle (it’s funnier when you read the book). The disturbing events begin with some mutilated birds that are left around her home as well as some questionable “art” left around her house as well. Even though her family as well as the local police do not believe it is anything to be concerned about, Pip knows better. She has made quite a few enemies over the years and it is just a matter of time before she knows something is going to go awry. She then begins to receive text messages as well as hang-up phone calls and this is where she knows something has to be done to find the culprit. In true Pip fashion, she does her own investigating and starts to unravel some very troubling things about the town she lives in and the people who occupy it. I promise you…this book is really hard to put down!

Ever since I read Good Girl’s Guide, I was thoroughly impressed by Jackson’s ability to weave such a complex plot line and somehow not make it confusing. Maybe it’s not confusing for me because I enjoy her books so much! Anyway, As Good As Dead is no exception; the plot lines are thoroughly thought out, complex, and will leave you on the edge of your seat. Jackson’s heroine Pip throughout the three novels also develops into this bad-ass, “I take crap from no one” character and it is only enhanced in the third novel. Even though some of the situations Pip finds herself in can be quite outlandish, in today’s society, they can unfortunately be realistic.

By some off chance that Holly Jackson finds my little, no-name blog, can you please get in touch with me? I would love to talk to you about these books some more!
